Completed Citadel: Cerberus Automated Turret Schematics but still in Journal

I am post-Thessia, so well after the coup attempt.  I have turned in the Automated Turret Schematics to the C-Sec Officer in the Presidium.  He gave his thanks and I have received the War Asset modifier to Citadel Defense Force. However, the quest is still in my journal as needing to take the schematics to the officer and it still names him on my map of the Presidium like the game does for uncompleted quests. This happens no matter how many times I speak with him.  When I talk with him, he doesn't speak, but Shepard says "Looks like control schematics for automated turrets, no good now but might be useful later," which I believe is what s/he says when you find the schematics prior to speaking to the officer.  In case it helps I spoke to the officer the first time and completed Tuchanka: Bomb post-coup.  I am NOT sure if I received any experience when I received the war assets modifier.

I would like get this quest to complete or at least off my journal.  After reading the instructions, I am fairly certain that I can activate the console commands, but I have no idea what commands would do this.  Any help is appreciated!

Hmmm... still didn't work, those "Active Goal" entry value greater than to "0" seem to be the wrong quests.  Not to obtuse, however, you did give me enough understanding to do a better google search, and I found this video.  Its instructions worked perfectly.  Seems like instead of looking for quests with  "Active Goals" instead I needed to look for empty "History."

    But seriously, thanks!

I doubt that there is a documented command for fixing journal entries, at least I never heard about such thing.

The only way I now of is to use "Gibbeds ME3 Save Editor".

    • Download it from here.
    • Open the last save game you have.
    • Click on the "Raw" Tab > Point 4 "Plot" > expand "Plot" right beneath it.
    • Click on "Quest Progress" > Click on the little rectangle with the three dots at the fare right of the line.
    • If this is the only quest still open in your journal it should be one of relatively few entries with a "Active Goal" value (right window) of greater then zero.
    • Use the arrow keys to navigate down the quest entries in the left window.
    • If you find a entry with a "Active Goal" (right window) value of greater then zero, set the value to "0".
    • Save to a new slot > test.

Holger1405, sorry it took me so long to reply, I was waiting until just before Cerberus Headquarters so there are fewer active quest entries.  However, am having the problem now with 4 other quests as well.  I have received the War Assets and credits for completing Chemical Treatment, Cerberus Turian Poison, Cerberus Ciphers, and Heating Unit Stabilizers. Like Cerberus Automated Turret Schematics, every time I talk to the quest givers, only Shepard talks, and s/he says the same words as if he found the fetch item before receiving the quest.

Nevertheless I can't seem to figure out your instructions, clicking Add seems to add only additional entry add the bottom.  For example, out of 94 entries out of quest progress, entry 26 and 73 have active goal entries 1 and entry 41 is at -1.  Highlighting entry 26 and clicking at seems to add a new entry at 95, and 26's active goal remains at 1. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, my bad, you need to double-click the "Active Goal" entry and set the value to "0". I will edit the post above as well.

But if that happens to other quests as well I think there is a more general problem.

    Do you use any Mods?

Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click ME3 > Repair, Mods will be purged by this.)

After the game repair, and because the quest progress is also stored in the save-games you probably need to use a save-game that is created before you approach the quest giver to collect the reward.
