When buying this on Steam, will a controller work on the PC? Or is this Keyboard and Mouse only like the normal Mass Effect games?
yet here we are 6 years later and still they dont have controller support for the steam version....

Still nothing. Game on steam doesn’t support controllers. Doesn’t matter which I use, what settings, the game doesn’t support controllers on steam. Refund requested. This shouldn’t be a thing still. I’d suggest just removing the line from the store page about controller support existing.

I normally don't play with a controller, but I tested it just now and it works flawless for me.
Something on your system interferers.
If anyone is still having this problem, this is how I overcome it.
When you get to the Mass Effect title screen that says "Press Any Button" and no buttons work, hold down the "steam" button and press a trigger (simulates mouse click.) From there, the controller is magically recognized. Your mileage may vary, but this was the only thing that worked for me after trying every other "fix" I could find.
