I know this topic is quite old, but just in case. Maybe someone is still playing and gets the same bug, as did i.
In order to fix it i had to save and reload the game after defeating the enemies in the elevator (The Elevator door may take a moment to open again).

@wurzelstilzkin Thanks for the post. As you say it's an old one, but we have no problem with "necro" posts as long as they add something helpful.
