Cutscenes are super quiet in Mass Effect 2: legendary edition. How to fix bug?

I'll link a video of me wandering around Illium to show that the audio is perfectly fine in every other setting except cutscenes. Conrad Verner is especially quiet at the end. I'm playing through ...

I would assume that this is a problem with the Windows sound settings or your audio hardware, rather than a problem with the game itself.

Look if surround sound is activated for your main audio device inside the Windows sound settings.
