Keeping in mind they only really needed to massively update Mass Effect 1, far more than any of the other two versions. I think the price they are charging for just remastering with ZERO new content is silly. But really, your getting nothing, but a prettier game. HALF the price would be at least semi-fair. But, $60 for the same game you already have? No. I love this trilogy, but I am tempted not to buy it. They aren't even offering like per-purhcase goodies for buying the game sooner. Its so bad.
That's my problem with it as well.
...they don't offer anything new.
We don't get an improved ending,
we don't get the possibility to romance whoever we want, no matter the gender of our Shep,
we don't get new content of any sort
we don't get a multi player
we don't get goodies
we *just* get a "prettier" version of a game we, admittedly love, but already own, at the same price as a brand new game.
And to be honest - a modded version of ME already gave me that without any additional money spent.
I want to show my appreciation for this game, but seeing that the publisher themselves don't do anything from their end -like giving a discount for loyal players- makes me wonder if I should buy it at full price.
If I do, they'll not learn from it & probably pull the same stunt again in the future.
If I don't, they'll think it's not worth it & not update any other of their older games.
But please - someone on here said something (I'm paraphrasing) about the devs getting part of the money... don't fall for that. They surely don't.
All the money you spend on this new version of the game is going to go to EA. There won't be any bonuses for good revenue for people who worked on bringing it to us.

While the visual improvements are certainly among the most visible changes being made, I'd definitely be remiss if I didn't point out there were a number of gameplay and systems changes as well.
While the first Mass Effect is definitely most heavily impacted, changes were made to all three games in the trilogy. Those changes may not be as drastic as some hoped for, but a lot more effort went into this than just converting everything to 4K.
That's not to minimize any of the feedback here, as it's perfectly reasonable to look at the changes made and decide on a personal level whether those are enough to pull the trigger on the Legendary Edition at this point or not. I just want to be sure all that additional work done by the developers isn't overlooked. 🙂
Thanks for all the continued discussion, folks!

Great. Now make a few more changes and add multiplayer so people will feel like they're getting their money's worth. Ijs - 5 years ago
To be honest, the price is fine. I'm just pissed that, after EA basically forced people to use their platform, we now get shafted for buying games there.

What everyone seems to be missing is that we don't care about having a discount or not. It's about having the whole triolgy with full DLC's on a platform we never asked for and not getting the same discount as someone who bought ME3 on steam. Anyway, I'm off this discussion. I've made my decision on how am I going to enjoy ME:LE and I'm happy with it.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.
Combat in ME2 was the best of the three IMO. So, now it will be removed and replaced with some completely new combat system? Likely more akin to ME3? I don't like that.
The majority of the changes are going to be graphical with minor tweaks to a few things. And this should warrant $60? I ALREADY own the game. I can make the graphics much better already with ALOT, and game tweaks with mods.
Why should I pay full price for something I already have?
I love the game... But unless there's a substantial discount for existing FAITHFUL customers, I likely won't be purchasing it. I don't think what few changes there are over what I already have warrants the cost of another full game.

I agree a lot with you maybe they did not say it yet but added some small stuff that could make the game more complete, for example on the galaxy map there are empty clusters, they could add some things there or remove the empty clusters. For the price i agree in a way with them i mean if you add the prices of all DLC + the 3 games you get around the price of the Mass Effect Legendary Eddition, that is ok for the new players, for old ones who owns the trilogy like many of us and some Andromeda as well it should be right to get something more, like a pre-order bonus, i asked in a chat with the support team if we will get or not something like that and i did not get an answer sadly.Since this is a game completed long ago i don't think is a good ideea to add more content and would be good you give us a discount or for example people that owns the trilogy and don't heave all DLC in the Trilogy to get it for free after the pre-order of the Legendary Edition.Every game comes with a bonus for pre-order here there are not many ways to do that.. i hope we will hear something around the Easter.Happy Easter to all of you 🙂.
