Solved

DLC Extended Cut is not recognized

Hello fellow players,

I have an unexpected problem with the DLC "Extended Cut" for Mass Effect 3.
I'm playing from an xbox 360.

I have downloaded this dlc but it is not recognized when trying to load a previous save file (error telling me that the DLC is not installed), and even with a brand new Shepard the game will end with the original ending.

  • I have downloaded this dlc again, with no improvements
  • I have cleared the xbox's cache
  • The main menu stay frozen when looking for downloaded contents (I have to be offline in order to access to the menu)

If you need further informations in order to help me solve this problem, I will provide with as much as I can.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

PS : Sorry if I did mistakes, English isn't my main language.

Man i feel you, i got a similar issue, i told you how did it happen to me, and  how i solved it:

my little brother finished the game before i did, so he told me about this dlc not working (at least the game advice that it was corrupt, mine didnt say anything about this dlc not working), i redownloaded it like 3 times, and no matter how many times he started before cronos, it never worked,he got so upset that he didnt want to know anything about the game, he even cried because we bought all dlc for three games, so i made a little research on bioware forums before i started my walkthrough, and realized that there are several possibilities why this dlc might not worked then:

1: Problems during download: it seems there is only one way to correctly download this dlc, you have to go to the main menu on the game, go to download content, and redownload from the game`s menu, then you cant do anything, seriously, you just have to wait, until it completely finishes the download, dont hit any buttons, dont close the download window, do not go to the dashboard, do not even let the screen saver hit in, here is the topic on the bioware forum where a few people had a similar issue, and solved thru this way....

Thank you for your answer, I will try that as possible.
Unfortunatly I still have the main menu freezing preventing me from dowloading the DLC from here, but i might have a solution for that aswell. With both combined, maybe I can work something out.

if I do not post any further message, it will be caused by the fact I have been hooked into the now functional game. :cathappy:

    EDIT : It worked !

In order to help players facing the same problem(s), here is a TLDR.

    TLDR :
-You can fix a non recognized DLC download by downloading it directly from the Mass Effect 3 menu.

-If the main menu is freezing when looking for downloaded content, go in offline mode (disconnect your xbox from the net), then go in the main menu of ME3. Go in Extras and choose to allowed auto connexions to ea/Origin. The menu shouldn't freeze again in online mode.
