For single player saves, I believe you can, but everything will be saved to his account, not yours.  At least for Mass Effect 3 which I tested (I have multiple accounts).

The saves are all in your "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3\Save" folder.

Each saved (SP) character will have its own folder under this.

Either of you should be able to play any of the characters saved in this structure.

To keep them separate, you'll have to do some maintenance:

I'd suggest you make a separate folder with something like "Save (yourname)".  It can be saved anywhere including in Save folder (it will be ignored).  Your brother would do the same.  Whenever you finish a session, copy your character folders to that personal save folder.  Before starting your next session, copy them back to the real Save folder.  Obviously your brother would want to do the same.

You might find it doesn't take on the first try.  Exit the game and repeat process (re-copy your saves to official Save folder, reload game).  You also might get a warning about cloud and local saves not matching.  You'll want to use your local save (but check to make sure you didn't screw up)

For multiplayer, this will not work.  All the data is saved on the servers.  So you need to play on your own account, or you will just be playing your brother's MP.

This is accurate. Multiple accounts don't mean multiple save locations. Setting up a different folder for the saves would be ideal. The app is not designed to hold multiple account locations but one primary default location.

Ive also tested this a few times over the years just to see if there were alternatives.
