I'm also a bit confused by this post.
Each blue dot covers a symbol. Briefly hover over (don't click) each dot to see what symbol is under it. After you see which symbols are under which dots, click on one of the dots. Then click on the other dot that has the same symbol under it. The dots will still be blue, but now the symbol under them will be shown permanently, and there will be a highlighted line between the dots. Then move to the next symbol pair. You can select the pairs in any order.
This is how it worked in the original game, and how it still works for me in the Legendary edition. If these are the steps that you're following, and still it's not working this way for you, then you have some sort of odd glitch going on; maybe with your input device -- not sure.
Just went to help the thief at a party break into a room. I had plenty of time to go through all 4 of the items, find the pairs, click on each pair, and none of them worked. Another quest down the drain and cannot be completed.
I am going to try Mass Effect 3. I would like to bring my character forward but that is impossible now.
In order to connect during the bypass minigame, you have to be really quick after identifying the pairs. Click on the first symbol and then immediately on the second.
Otherwise the dots won't connect.
- @Schachmatt123 That did it but I can barely work that fast and I know one quest is off limits because of the time involved.
I have bad hands with very little fine movement skills. This mini-game is almost impossible for me to do which really sucks.I can do the mini-game, did them so often in ME2 original that I didn't even have to look at the symbols but simply look at the dots and lines and know which went together. They seemed to have reduced the time for the second point to be chosen making this game much harder. Yeah, I think @Fred_vdp is correct in that they need to make an option to disable all these or GREATLY increase the time limit on choices for people who need it or simply want it. I know they did remove some of the puzzles and it seems to be about half of them are gone, ie the ones for random loot.
