While Mass Effect 2 is regarded as a masterpiece I think there could have been some things that should have been done better, chiefly is how the Alliance and Council treat you with suspicion until they need you, at which point they just lock you in after a favor goes F----R.
The case of the Virmire Survivor is another big one, we get to visit Liara and we got an excellent DLC for her yet we couldn't meet up again with the VS and Anderson (which we do get post Horizon with some neat interaction) after we learn of a Derelic Reaper?
It could have opened the doors to start mending the relationship with either Williams or Alenko but no, we have to wait up until the relationship gets to THAT point in ME3 or if we didn't meet up with them the relationship goes to be how it was in ME3:
