This is most probably a permissions problem.
Try to run the game as an Administrator (Right click the game shortcut or the game exe > Run as administrator.)
If that doesn't help:
The standard save path is "C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\"
Is this path present on your system?
If not, do you use onedrive?
Hello and thank you for advice. I have tried running as administrator and I do not use Onedrive. However there is no save path I can find either.

Yes I do have a Bioware folder under documents, but the only game files I see are DragonAge Veilguard.

It seems the game can't access this folder.
Repair the game.
(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)If that fails:
Try to run EA app and the game as Administrator.
If that fails:
Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time > Click on "Command prompt (Administrator)", "PowerShell (Administrator)" or Terminal (Administrator).
(OS specific differences.)-
In the CMD, PowerShell or Terminal window, at the prompt type or copy and past: takeown /f "xxxxxxxxxxxx" /r (With the quotes)
(Replace the X with the full path to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents" folder, the quotation marks need to stay in.) -
hit ENTER
You should get a success message. - Restart the PC > Test
