[EA App] Unable To Launch Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect Andromeda

For past week I have been trying to launch this game ( I bought it on steam)... The so " amazing " EA app shows me window with loading bar and message " preparing to launch a game ".

The game will NOT launch at all!!! EA (CR)app is showing the game in library with ! " install game from steam...

I tried to follow some tutorials from steam community and i even tried following some help ideas from here.

Mainly this onehttps://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Mass-Effect-Games/Steam-Can-t-launch-Mass-Effect-Andromeda/m-p/13379831#M74503

NOTHING IS WORKING and I'm getting really angry with the EA app...

  • @ItzJoeMF Most games have some sort of a log. For example, Mass Effect 3 complains in "C:\ProgramData\EA Logs\gl_log_X.log" (where X is number) when your machine ID doesn't match your existing license file on disk.

There are also logs at "C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Core\logs" and game licenses are cached in "C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License".

Often when a game refuses to start (i.e. you click play on Steam and it looks like it is going to start and then nothing happens) it's the problem with the license which is resolved by removing files from that folder and letting Origin / EA App / game regenerate them with the correct machine ID.

If that doesn't help, you have two more things to try:

    1. Search for any Windows, game, or EA App logs to see if you can find an error that is preventing the game from launching.
    2. Go to: https://masseffectarchives.com/en_US/ and login with your EA account on which you purchased the game just to confirm you have access.

As a last resort go here: [Removed - Admin.]

    @holger1405

Are the games that don't work installed on your system drive?

Yes it was... And since you asked i tried to install it on second drive. Still not able to play ☹️

I tried it with the clean boot and normal boot on both of them. Even tried to launch it with launcher in installation folder. Didn't launch but EA dropped error msg.

I asked because installing on a non system drive is sometimes cause for problems like this, so if the game was on the system drive it is a good idea to move it back.
I guess the message you got from EA app, wile interesting, happened wile the game was installed on the non system drive?

Create a new Windows user account  (Administrator) don't use local special characters, use only Characters from the ASCII table

    • Reboot > Log in to the new user account.
    • Test.

So EA app can't create License for MEA but it can make it for others. There is no error in ea or win logs...
Anyway Thank you!! @STG_Mordin for the github... I can finally play it thanks to that patch

No problem, good thing you got the workaround link before @EA_Barry removed it.

If EA actually had any meaningful end-user support which was competent and capable of solving people's problems with purchased games instead of being replaced with even more stupid AI chatbots, such workarounds to keep using Origin in order to play what you paid for would not be necessary.

    @STG_Mordin

I notice you provided a link that solved the issue.

I've been trying to launch this for 3 hours now. Have done a number of troubleshooting steps to no avail.

Could you please provide the link you posted previously.

At the risk of missing it before it's deleted, you can send to [edit: email address removed].

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Swiss

    Try this:
Create a notepad file in the folder you have MAE.
    Name it USER.CFG
    Write
    Thread.MinFreeProcessor -2
    Thread.processorcount 4
    This solved my problem.
