Even after all the shenanigans from the internet we still had faith in Bioware giving us a great Mass Effect game and they did. I'm 40 hours in and I've hardly touched the main story. Maybe Bioware would give us an in game item like an armour skin or something.

From experience with Dragon Age vrs thr trilogy its much harder to feel invested in characters when the protag changes every game. I much preferred the trilogy way so you are more invested, not disconnected.
I also prefer playing a single character throughout game series.
Mass Effect was way better than Dragon Age on that front...although I played Inquisition more than the whole ME trilogy.
I usually have trouble replaying these games once Ive seen all the story.
Have done original trilogy replays but usually with a year or two break between so I forget most and it feels more fresh.
Have tried inquisition replays and don't get very far, have yet to replay it start to finish.
This game, Ive no idea what is so different about it for me. Maybe its the extra voicing during missions or something that keep them all fun to repeat, idk but im already about half way into my second play with SisRyder and it still feels fresh not done before boring. Im also already making plans for a third SisRyder play and a ScottRyder play - I just don't want to stop playing!

I am nearing the end of my third play through at level 91. I know what you mean. lol
In DA;I my goal was the most absurdly powerful Inquisitor and I got there before losing interest. High Dragons were about a three second battle. lol
Ok i finished an insanity playthrough, and got over 150h in total already with MP. So i do like the game to some extend. But ... what the frack are you guys smoking to think this release is ok, or even on par with the state of ME1-3 at release?
In 25 years of gaming i have rarely ever seen a game this "broken" at release. You got animation problems all over, quest tracking bugs, spawning errors, memory leaks, crashes, an unfinished (m&K) interface, a multitude of sound problems (low volumes, sound cutting out compeltely at random, Push-To-Talk non-functional,..), hell even the prerendered CGI cutscenes fail to play correctly sometimes. And that's all just of the top of my head. Literally EVERY aspect of this game is plagued with bugs and gliches.
No, this release is not O.K. It is everything but ok. It's a beta in the truest meaning of the term. Content-complete but not sufficiently tested for bugs.
The initial stick was from folk with a 'pack mentality' who saw a few comic YouTube videos.
MetaCritic reviews the day of launch without having actually played the game.
75 hours in (50% done) I'm finding this a solid enjoyable game with a few rough edges.
The sheep can think what they like.
Nothing can match the pre-launch hype (mostly fan-driven),
this is much better than the launch-backlash suggests.

Division was great untill you reached the end of the story and emptied the map of echo's... End game was *, DLC even crappier. Division was the reason I pre-ordered Ghost Recon Wildlands (After closed and open beta only) without season pass. By the looks of it that was the right choice.

If I'm not mistaken, this game was to be released on October, delayed. Then, out of the blue, it was moved back to the beginning of the year. That speaks a lot for itself. I agree that games need some old-time polish before being released. These days they take for granted they can fix bugs and ordinary things with patches, transforming technical issues into an ordinance, listening to complaints from those who really matter in prior to following a soon-to-be failure, tarnishing a whole franchise before fanbase.
The usual will always happen: those who won't bother, and those who will. Companies yet haven't learned how much better is to try harder placing everyone on better spirits.
I am loving the game and i am taking my time ...only just 30% through atm... I dont want/expect any kind of bonus/sorry item, just fix the game. This coming patch is a great start and i know over the next 2 months things will be sweet....
...In reality it was EA not Bioware that needs to appolagise...clearly the game just needed a couple of more months of dev time/polish time, but EA wanted a 3rd quater release in order to have perceived higher profits which sux balls...
Dont blame Bioware, its on EA's heads...
As much as I'd like to fully blame EA, this game was apparently in development for 5 years whilst using an existing game engine they were already familiar with. I think EA got fed up and forced them to release it due to the time and money spent.
As to how or why Bioware dropped so many balls in areas they are usually very good at... I don't know. Departures of prominent staff members? Outsourcing to third parties?
Either way, my experience with ME:A has been ok in general, but I did suffer from 'open world fatigue' quite a bit whilst playing.

I doubt you played at release or any of the first three patches then.
