From Ashes not Authorizing

I've been playing ME3 since it came out, and had From Ashes from the beginning, but just today it decided that I am not authorized to use it anymore.  All the other DLC work fine.

  • Just so everyone is aware, I think it would be in everyone's interest to try a Live Chat session with an EA advisor (I know, I know, not the ideal solution).  I just got through with a chat with one, and while he was unable to fix the problem, he did state that it appears to be an issue on their side that is preventing the DLC from being authorized.  Since my advisor wasn't able to solve the problem, he escalated the case and gave me a number to call to hopefully get it fixed.  Sadly, they will only be available on the phone Monday through Saturday, so it won't be getting solved today for me.  After I call tomorrow and chat with them, I'll post an update to let everyone know.

  • I'm in exactly the same boat as kenshen19. A few days ago I suddenly found that I no longer had an online pass, now From Ashes isn't authorising. These are the first and only problems I've had with ME DLC but...geez, you'd think EA and Bioware would be able to handle this properly.

    You have to contact EA help, no way around that. If Live chat is not an option, switch country to United States at the bottom. Or try Twitter support during their work hours. They are really fast: https://twitter.com/AskEASupport

    Usually From Ashes becomes de-authorized when they issue you a new "Online Pass (N7 Collector's Edition)" if you own the CE. Somehow they are connected. Just ask them to re-authorize it for you.

  • I have just the standard edition and the live chat could not help me for reasons I still don't understand.  Part of the problem is on EA's side thier computer shows that I never bought it while when I look at my add ons page on Origin is shows I do own it.  Now I have to wait on the phone which I doubt I will even get through today since my wait time is a staggering 800 minutes.  I am not a happy person right now.

    Calling in got it fixed.  Sounds like the fix was the same as it was for others in this thread.  I know it is a hassle but my suggestion would be to skip live chat and go straight to calling them.  It seems like the advisor I talked too on the phone had more information about my account that the live chat didn't have though I don't know that for certain.  One other thing if you do call and you hear the wait time is something like 800 minutes don't get discouraged.  My wait time was only 90 mins.  Yeah that is a long time but nothing like 800.

  • I just wanted to pipe in that I have the same problem since I had to reset my Online Pass for Multiplayer. But I figured out that if you put Origin (PC) into Offline mode, this problem won't occur. So if you don't want to wait like 2h for someone in LiveChat, this might be a work around.

  • I support anything that will stop these issues with Authorizing DLC as I have had quite a few but this particular issue I must say is a first for me.

    I still have a support case open since November for a multiplayer issue and I am really getting tired of DLC problems.

    So YES please allow us to authorize DLC one time.
