I don't know if you've solved it but the solution is on this forum post http://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-2/lag-stuttering-mass-effect-2/m-p/3018236#M4345, I too had this problem and disabling origin-in-game by right clicking on the game in the library and going to properties then disabling origin in game brings the fps back to normal.
