I just received the trilogy pack and installed ME1 and the game won't launch. Somehow I managed to get it to work a grand total of 4 hours yesterday (with the 1.02 patch and just reinstalling origin to my knowledge) and it won't launch anymore. I've reinstalled origin, tried running the game as an administrator, and changed my compatibility mode to XP service pack 2 and 3. I'm running it on Windows 7.
I am having the same issue. From what I've researched, its a compatability issue with Windows 7. I can't believe that this company would resell a game without first patching it to make sure that it works with current versions of operating systems...well, actually, I can, but its bad practice.
I've seen other people have some success copying ME2's config launcher into ME1's to get it to work, but it hasn't helped me.
I've also spent a few hours talking to Origins' tech support, but the answer wasn't in India.
I really wanted to play this series from the begining--and paid money to do just that--but I'm getting frustrated and may end up just skipping ahead to ME2.
