How DO I START New Characters in ME3?

i start the game, and i can import from me2 OR i get John Shepard as default.......NO OTHER OPTIONS... wots goin' on? does anybody know or is EA up to their usual sloppy standards?

It should give you 3 options if you haven't completed the game already, 4 if you have.

These would be: Male, Female, import ME2 Character, and Import ME3 Character.

If you choose Male or Female, it'll ask you what kind of game play you're wanting, then allow you to customize your character after creating a name.

You have only this 2 option at the beginning of the game, after you finish you have the option to import your m3 character.
