I just had the same bad experience. EA support refered me to this page!!!.
Another support person said I should go offline then install from CD. It did not work. She then told me to unplug the PC from the internet and try again. I tried that, it still did not work and it killed the chat session.
I then got an email from support that they were now satisfied with their 'help' and had closed the case. I tried replying to the email but got an autoresponder saying it was an unmonitored address.

you - done that, the install process takes me to a screen asking for the code. I enter it and get told its already been used. Seems there is confusion between CD install and online install
James - I see. I have checked our resources here and was able to locate a fix. It appears that this is a known issue with Mass Effect 3 on retail discs.

you - I know its not your fault, but that fix is REALLY pathetic. It seems easier to just download and install via origin.

Joey - Since you have a disc version, please try this out:
Go to Origin client-->Origin-->Offline mode, and then install the game via Disc and it should work fine afterwards.

Joey - That's odd. It should not do that. I tried to do it on my end and it worked before. If this still wont work, the final resolution for that one is to temporary disable the internet of the PC/Laptop you - want to install the game via disc and install it via "Autorun" of the disc.
