How I Fixed Mass Effect 2 (Direct X Error)

If you're installing with Origin and you get some error about Direct X You might be told to do the following:

Try running Origin as Administrator.

If that don't helps, go to your ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\__Installer\directx\redist" folder and delete all the the files with a ".cab" file extension

After that run the "DXSETUP.exe" (As Administrator) inside the same folder > restart the Computer > test.

If that also don't helps, download the DirectX end-user runtime from here > install (Run the installer as Administrator > restart the Computer > test.

^^^^^^That did not work for me,However that's not to say it won't work for you though.

Now Heres how I got Mass Effect 2 to work:

1. Restart in Safe mode with networking (F8 on most computers at start up)

2.Click Install in Origin

3. Wait for install to finish

4. Reboot in windows and start game.

If you're not a fan of Origin be sure to add a no Origin patch for the game to boot faster.

Now if the game installs and don't start try setting compatibility modes to Win XP sp2

If that does not work like one one of my other PCs  I have this will work.

Take the install files from a friend stick them in origin and overwrite your Mass Effect 2 install

Pretty mess up that such a easy thing has not be answered by EA but hey that's EA scourge of the gaming industry #Imiss90'sEA
