I also think you missed the driving force behind both and how it will/should effect future decisions.
Sloane is driven to protect HER people, aka the Outcasts. Everyone else is expendable or secondary to this need. Thus as long as you don't do anything that would make her believe you threaten them you are reasonably safe in working with her as long as you remember her objective.
Reyes objective is to "To Be Somebody"...to me a fairly dangerous thing for Ryder and the Initiative. If Reyes feels he isn't enough of somebody he will scheme and work to raise himself and destroy any he feels are above him in power. He has no known loyalty to anyone but himself, and his drive for power/status. As long as he sees you as helping or giving him power he will be ally, but let his perception change and he will work behind the scenes to destroy you.
So yeah, again, I would rather deal with Sloane...but hey, that is just my opinion.

I find that an odd conclusion. Sloane is certainly willing to sacrifice her own people for the sake of her power and Reyes chooses not to be in the forefront, which would mean being somebody.
That seems contradictory.
What you choose? Depend a bit WHAT kind of Ryder you play. I play a "good" Ryder. And so: I have to choose Reyes. 😉
Reyes is not a friendly, nice man, BUT Sloane ist mutch, mutch worser. And if you play a nice, honorable Ryder you have to take care about the people on Kadara. We know: Not everybody who was kicked from the Nexus deserves it. And there are still the Angara. A "good" Ryder have to help them.
Reyes open Kadara Port for everybody, the Guards to the badlands are gone. Kadara Port becomes a Freeport (and I'm sure Reyes will make a lot of illegal deals here, of course). But: This new situation helps the people. This is a huge improvment for the "normal" men & women on Kadara.
So till I always play "good or normal" character, I will alway choose Reyes. 👮
