ME3 Product Key

I bought Mass Effect 3 on Steam some time ago, however I'm unable to play because it keeps asking for a "Product Key". I haven't even been able to launch the game. The only time I've been able to play was when I had EA Play. 

 

  • UPDATE!! It's working now!! I uninstalled the EA app at some point (I think by accident) and changed the launch on the Steam app. A long time ago I tried a controller layout tool and that possibly messed things up. So far all good now. Big thanks to EA_Mio​ and holger1405​ for reaching out in such a timely manner. You both are amazing!!! Take care and see y'all in the fight for the galaxy! :D

    Hi ngl_phil​,

    When you use the "Sign in as a different user" option, can you sign into the same EA account that you had EA Play with?

    I tried it and it didn't work unfortunately. I never saw the CD key appear.

    Try to remove the local Mass Effect license folder

    • Close EA app and Steam completely. (not just minimized in the tray.)
    •  Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box..
    •  Enter or copy and paste: "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (Without the quotes) > hit ENTER.
    • Delete the "License" folder.
    • Test.
