Welp.
After listening to "ME:A Nexus Uprising" ... I empathize with Sloane a lot more. She is a victim, a solid character worthy of redemption.
I'm glad I didn't listen to the Audiobook before my first playthrough. I would not have enjoyed the game as much. Rather than seeing Tann as an irritating bureaucrat - I see him as a war criminal.
There definitely needs to be an option to remove Tann from leadership. Knowing everything that I know, now... I would have shot him in the head on sight if I could have.
I don't even want to shoot the exiles on Kadara.
