Importing Mass Effect 1 saves from Steam to Origin

I wanted to import my Mass Effect 1 character that I invested 50 hours on, into Mass Effect 2. However, I bought Mass Effect 1 on Steam and when I go to import my character there isn't anything there...

Have you gone to:

C:\Users\username\Documents\BioWare

Both my games are there, I imagine the Steam version is the same place they normally go there.
