Invalid license. Reason code = Missing DLL: [d3dx10_39.dll] Error: 0xC1
I am having some troubles running ME2. No other games, even ME1, is giving me a problem just ME2.
This is the first message that pops up after trying to run the game:
ME2Game.exe - Bad Image
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3dx10_39.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f.
After I close that a EA message pops up with this "Invalid license. Reason code = Missing DLL: [d3dx10_39.dll] Error: 0xC1".
I checked the DLL and it is there.
I contacted support and these are all the things they had me try:
Open Origin as admin.
Run game repair
Reinstall the game.
Download Microsoft's DX http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35
Update the C++ http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30679
Make sure .Net 4.5 is installed and updated. http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=30653
Clean boot Windows 10 https://help.ea.com/en-ca/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
I also manually deleted the DLL and ran the DX installer which put the file back.
None of the above worked.
Anyone have any ideas?
Just in case anyone else has a problem with this. After working with support for over an hour we got it going.
Needed to download two DLL files and place them here:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries"
In the same location as the EXE.
Download the 32bit version of both:
