Invert X-Axis Patch Please

Hi.

I realise I'm in the minority, and I also realise I may get abuse for this.

But... I'm one of those people who simply cannot play games (third person or first person view) with the standard camera orientation. I find I have to have both the X and Y axis cameras inverted.

Why? I don't know. It's how I'm wired. I can't help it. I know it will amuse a lot of gamers, and many will be thinking - and suggesting to me, as has happened in the past - "Why can't you just learn to play it the right way"? Or "Can't you just switch the wires in your brain so it works"?

I bought the games on 360 when they came out - no option to invert; couldn't play them.

I bought them on PS3 thinking it was overlooked on 360 - no option to invert; couldn't play.

I bought on Xbox One thinking Man, it's 2021 - EVERYONE gets included now, there's BOUND to be an option just to flip that slider to invert X axis now. Nope. Still can't play them.

I live in hope that someone on the dev team sees this and will incorporate the option in a patch. I have messaged support and put in a request, and I really hope they follow up on this as I would absolutely love to play these games.

Please don't reply saying there's something wrong with me - there isn't.
Please don't reply telling me to just change - I can't.

Peace,

Ant

  • While I have no need of this particular function, I agree that MELE settings are extremely lacking. This is something that should be a basic function.

Edit: I've actually made two topics (merged here) on similar issues with the remaster. Sadly, nobody actually acknowledged them apart from the topic merge.

  • No shaming from me.  I use standard controls, but some people I know prefer it that way.  I’m sorry the legendary edition lacks this feature.

one can hope for a patch to include it.

I spoke to support today, and was advised that Support are aware that players want this as an option, and the team are "looking for a change". They are aware that there are at least a couple of posts about it here.  I really hope that it finally gets added to this series soon.

  • I ended up buying a programmable dongle that would let you map, for example, your Xbox controller to your Playstation console and just programmed it so that left was right to be able to play the mass effect games. I believe it was old jrpgs that did it to me.

I'm with you. Absolutely cannot play a game without the option to invert both axes.
