Linking Mass Effect 1 to Origin

I have Mass Effect 1 on the PC and I was hoping to add it to my Origin Library since I did not buy it with Origin. Every time however I try to use my product code Origin states it is invalid. Is ther...

How hard would it actually be for EA to make it so that the Origin client itself accepted Mass Effect 1 CD keys?

Surely it would be easier and save on support who could be handling other problems?

    sadly both solutions didnt work for me.

    I was asked for a receipt. Like i still have a receipt from a game i bought 5 years ago.

    Then i was told to check with the store if they have a record... Who here remembers where they bought something 5 years ago?

    Sure i still have the cd's and i can just install with them.

    weird this is, that if i go to my Origin account page is does show a Mass effect id under "Game-Specific Identities" and before everything became Origin i could select a "Mass effect" name from the big list of all games registered to my (then still) EA account.

    Also the DLC is already there in my Origin.

    Yes i understand that they want to be sure i own a legal copy, but i have no other way of proving it then showing it infront of a webcam
