Linking Mass Effect 1 to Origin

According user serenity87hun on EA's forum (see it), I could obtain a new serial number to register my licence code of Mass Effect "1" in the Origin and, so, download a digital copy of the game.

I bought it in 2008 (retail copy) but I'm afraid the media DVD will, soon or later, presenting physical problems.

How can I proceed to receive this new serial? Thanks!

I got mine working the same way zomhead says. I contacted EA support and they gave me a new key, which one could activate in Origin. After that, you have to uninstall your original copy from the PC and download the digital one using your new key from Origin.

  • What else do you want to know? The answer you provided is correct. Contact Official customer support and they'll link ME1 to your account. The easiest way to contact EA is to go to the help section in the Origin software and pick the live chat option.

"What else" I want to know?

Please, don't be rude... As I said, that post was writed by user in a forum, it wasn't an "official solution".

To receive "Answer HQ" points is the only important thing to you?

    Ps. Not necessary answer.

So who are you calling a liar?  What's with the big chip on your shoulder?  You don't know how to act in forums?

ME-1 was released several years ago.  There was no Orign in existence then.  It isn't a big seller now, despite, in most ways, to me, being the most fun of the three.  There wasn't any built-in online system connection, and no further patch is anticipated to add it to such an old game.   Instead of wasting time here, you could have been in contact with a Game Adviser already, and been fully connected by now.

I wasn't rude. Don't get so defensive for misreading my intentions. I was simply wondering what we could possibily add to the answer your provided, which is a working solution to the problem you posted.

To answer your additional question: No, I'm not doing this for Answer HQ points. I've been posting in BioWare tech support forums since before we ever got points for it.

If in doubt you can always search for an official article on our help.ea.com page. This one deals with redeeming codes on Origin:

    https://help.ea.com/uk/article/redeem-your-serial-code-in-origin#2

Usually it is "if you cannot redeem the code on Origin or the link given in that article, contact an EA Game Advisor." Chat and phone are the contact methods of your choice here, as the Game Advisors have to verify your account with you.
