loading stuck after exiting mine

When exiting the mine on Erebus, I get a screen popup with the text "loading".

I wait 5 minutes and it is still there.

I press ESC to go to the menu to try to get rid of it.

Once I see both the main menu and "loading", the game continues to play the main menu animations (see screenshot).

The game no longer responds to any keyboard or mouse input.

With alt-tab I'm able to switch back to Windows.

@SPFAR Try repairing the game. In the EA App, open your game library and click MELE > Manage > Repair. In Steam, right-click the MELE tile and select Properties > Local files > Verify integrity of the game files.

If this doesn't help, do you have a recent backup you can load to try playing this mission from the beginning?

I just restarted the game, did the mission again and did not have any issues.
