low cinematic frame rate

I recently complete the first game in the series after about 46 hours of play, while quite Annoyed that during cinematics and loading screens the game constantly jumped my CPU usage to 100% but the rest of the game was playable due to the fact the cinematics are Only present in the first part of the game and at the very end. I find that the ME2 section however is Completely unplayable, if Only because the cinematic frame rate is Completely messed up, possibly by whatever issue is causing the 100% cpu usage during loading during ME1 as 5 or 6 seconds before the collector ship fired it's first shot in the movie I heard the audio of the first dialogue choice being brought in, completely unreasonable in my opinion to try and play this game in such a sorry state, while on a computer that Easily would sit in the middle ground between minimum requirements and recommended requirements for the game.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K, 32GB RAM, Radeon RX 580x.

    Try to repair the game.

(Origin > Game Library > right click MELE > Repair)
(Steam > Game Library > right click at MELE > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

If that doesn't helps, create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

  • Sadly I have tried that multiple times, what I have discovered is that it affects All Cinematics, there is a desync between dialogue audio and the cinematics, while the sound effect cinematics are perfectly lined up, and, all cinematics are incredibly slow, it was hardly noticeable in the first game's videos, but as there are many more in the second game they are Much more noticeable than they should probably be, like trying to watch a 4k bluray through a 460p monitor, except my monitor is able to utilize 144hz.

    Your Graphic driver is outdated.

Seeing your description of the problem I would suggest a clean re-installation of the driver.

    • Go here and download the newest driver for your card.
    • Follow this manual to the letter to cleanly uninstall all AMD components.
    • Install the graphics driver > Go online.
    • Test.

Furthermore, it is true that your SAMSUNG LC24RG50 can utilize 144Hz, but it currently runs at only 60Hz, you should recheck the settings after you installed the driver.

Is your 580 an eGPU? Because there are at least a dozen eGPU users reporting the exact same behaviour

the problem is the playback of the BIK movies through bink2w64.dll. I tried an older version but no difference, so It must be a parameter passed to the DLL.
When I play the BIK movies directly with RADGameTools, there is no stutter whatsoever, so the movies are fine.
