Mass effect 1 bonus powers

I platinumed mass effect 1 and 2 on the ps3 and I lost my saves when my ps3 died last month. I went to replay 1 so I can redo everything in 1 and 2 before I start 3. When I made a new character I wasnt given an option to choose a bonus power. I thought that bonus powers were connected to trophies being unlocked. My game menu shows that every trophy has been unlocked. If I do 150 kills again with an assult riffle will I be able to import that ability into other classes like before or is it connected to unlocking trophies which has all ready been unlocked making my game glitched forever?
