Mass effect 1 launch error

This is the error im getting im so confused my screen discontinues and says dvi not found then after 10 minutes come's on with this error.

There are several known causes for the general protection fault:
1. Unsupported hardware
2. Very outdated video drivers
3. A very specific sidemission on the Citadel
We can rule out 3, since you get this error at launch. If you provide hardware specs and driver versions, then we know whether 1 or 2 is the issue.
