[PC] Mass Effect 1(LE) Maximum Careers reached message

When I open the game to start a new career, it tells me that the maximum number a careers has been reached, and that I need to delete some to make space for more, I did that, even went through and deleted the saves in the other games in case that helped, but even with no save files left and no load game option even available anymore I still get the same error message.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and restarting my computer so I don't know what else could be causing it other than something server side
