If so use the "MassEffect2.exe" for the shortcut.
I have already tried it, no success :-(
Guys, please, can you pass Shadow broker car race for me?
I was crashing near the end of the car chase using all suggestions here with -nomoviestartup, shortcuts, etc.
I went back and launched from the Origin app, and it worked.

Open the masseffect config.exe file & set the graphics to:
borderless window
1920 x 1080 resolution
I left everything else on full
Save the settings
Start the game using the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries\MassEffect2.exe" DO NOT USE the -nomoviestartup option
Play the chase through to the end
Save the game once you have landed on the balcony
Re-set your graphics to their normal values
