Strange that I'm replying on my own topic.
Alright, after a few hours of reinstalling ME2 and all related content I managed to get my saves and start the Overlord DLC missions. Still, I encountered a crash when going to the dish in Hermes station, but at the very least I managed to mount the stairs. So, I thought it over, what if I just skip killing the geth at the ground level of the satellite dish and proceed upstairs where the real mission begins.
So, after contemplating on it and a good night's rest, I booted the game once more at the entrance of the Hermes station dish and just ran up the stairs. The game progressed soon after that. I believe that my (fat) PS3 couldn't handle the AI computation or graphics during the fight sequence on Hermes and by simply skipping it entirely also allowed me to skip the crash.
I'm going to update this thread just to see if there are still some other unrelated bugs on Overlord.

I'm trying to enter the dish (walking down the ramp to the entrance) and I can almost get inside before the system crashes. Hopefully I can employ a similar strategy and get on with my life haha...
