Mass Effect 3 - can't progress past "Press a key to continue" screen Win8

Hi all,

ME3 stars as normal but, as soon as the intro is over and I get to the menu screen (to start a new game) the mouse cursor works but doesn't respond and keyboard presses don't appear to work either... very frustrating, I've just bought the game for £9.99 from Origin and I can't even play the thing.

Any help would be greately appreciaed, thanks in advance,

A recent Origin update caused this problem. Today's client update hasn't fixed it. You can get around it by right-clicking on Mass Effect 3 in your "My Games" section of the client, click "Game Properties" and then put a tick next to "Disable Origin in game for this game".

Seconded here. The game worked just fine one month ago, and when I wanted to get a few multiplayer games under my belt, the menu screen (when Windowed) or the intro screen (when Full Screened, same as OP) had suddenly become unclickable.
I'm on Windows 7 Pro so this doesn't seem OS-related.

Same issue here. Mouse reacts just fine, but keyboard won't respond (with exception of Alt+F4, throws to desktop).
OS is Win7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I tried to play with two of my friends yesterday and they ran in exact same problem.

For the record I tried reverting to non-beta Origin, but the issue remains the same.

This... fixed the problem. Origin never ceases to amaze.
