Mass Effect 3 - Collectors Edition (PC) - Online Pass/DLC Problem

My Problem since the Origin patch last week:

Unable to autourize online pass/redeem

Steps I have taken:

1. Contacted EA, they gave me an online pass which worked for a few hours then:

Unable to authorize the listed DLC please log into Alliance network with the account used to purchase the DLC Collectors Edition Online Pass Entitlement.

2. Contacted EA.

I told them what it stated, they did something, and was able to connect but now i got:

Unable To Authourize From The Ashes DLC.

3. Contacted EA

Stated the problem again this time they removed the online pas tried the standard edition pass even though Im collectors edition now, tried it and basically back to square unable to authourize online pass/redeem

4. Contacted EA

They gave me another online pass this time collectors edition and back to square one again unable to authorize DLC please log into alliance Network etc. whilst still on th phone they told me at their end the only solution would be for me to have a new email account and start from scratch again, god knows about all the DLC ive bought, all the bioware points etc, This I do not want to do. I have my manifest maxed and all my challenge weapons at a good level, plus ive completed all the challenges to the best of the best, is their a solution to this. Im anonnoyed also 3 hours on a premium line for nothing.

5. EA

They have closed my case and it is still not been done, I have contacted Bioware and up to now no response.  I uninstalled evrything as I thought it might be a windows 8 related problem and installed windows 7, when I login I get:

Connecting to EA Servers

Checking Downloadable Content x 2

Unable to authorize the listed DLC please log into Alliance network with the account used to purchase the DLC Collectors Edition Online Pass Entitlement.

I am at my wits end here, last thing I want to do is lose my manifest. I have spent hours to get it to this point, I have paid loads of money for the dlc, In a nutshell all I can play is multiplayer and not my sp, so when the new things come out I cannot have them.

I changed my E-mail address through SWTOR to be able to play my level 16 character.

When I did that it incidentally changed my Origin E-mail as well, which I did not want to do.

I then ran into issues similar to yours with Online Pass/Unable to authenticate DLC.

I did a Live Chat, who gave me a case number and told to call at certain times ("Standard Business Hours")

I then called and they switched me from Digital Deluxe to Collectors edition and deactivated my Digital Deluxe.

The errors have now gone away.

It took a few tries, a long phone call during work hours, while you need to be at home to check things and input codes...

    My Recommendation is this:

    Switch your E-mail account.

    Try again.

If it fails, talk to a few Representatives.  They are human and some make more mistakes than others.  Be Respectful, and patient.

Feel free to discuss how much effort you put into fixing it, and hours spent on the phone and they may be able to help you out a bit.

When talking to them, get them to toggle between Collectors Edition and Digital Deluxe.  Those give equivalent bonuses so you don't need to worry about losing anything.

The DLC is tied to your account so you should keep it without issue.  If there is an issue, kindly talk to one of the Representatives and they can remedy the situation.

  • Tried to change my email account but no luck It's not visible in the account preferences, I will have to email/phone support, it is annoying.

In efforts to bring players the most consistent, secure, and effective protection for their accounts, players are no longer able to update their email address for their Origin Account through Origin themselves, meaning they simply need to contact us in order to update their account's email address.

Had the exact same issue, here is what I did:

I've had exactly the same issues as a Collector's Edition owner. One day, my Online Pass stopped working and I contacted EA Live chat three times to get it resolved. The last advisor was really helpful (all were polite, though) and issued a new Online Pass. But one for the Standard Edition. As others have mentioned there is an Online Pass for the Standard Edition and a different one for the Collector's Edition named Online Pass (N7 Collector's Edition). You can look up which one is registered to your account on the BioWare Social Network under your registered game content.

Once I had the Online Pass for the Standard Edition I kept getting an Authorization Error stating my "Collector's Edition Online Pass Entitlement" could not be authorized. See a screenshot here. Nonetheless I could play Multiplayer and all Single Player content (including all DLCs like From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega etc), so this was only a minor glitch, nothing that prevented me from playing anything at all.

After hearing good things about the EA Twitter Support I contacted them referring to my case number that got created when I contacted Live Chat and attached the screenshot and within minutes they came back to me and issued an Online Pass (N7 Collector's Edition). Yet, this lead to another problem which many of you also had, "From Ashes" suddenly wasn't authorized anymore, see screenshot. So I contacted Twitter support again and in under 5 minutes, they registered "From Ashes" to my account again and now I have no more errors when starting ME3.

    Solution:

So my advice is - try Twitter Support under @AskEASupport during their work hours (Mo-Fr 9AM - 6PM CST), state your case number and if possible a screenshot of your error and in my case they resolved it in minutes. If you don't have twitter and don't want to create an account to contact them, try your luck with an advisor from Live Chat and say you need an Online Pass that fits your game-version (standard or N7 Collector's Edition) and if you're a CE owner tell them to register From Ashes as well since this seems to get de-authorized when they issue a new CE Online Pass. Good luck!

i had same problem, it was started with From Ashes DLC

    1. Contacted EA, he removed my From Ashes DLC on my account and he told me problem solved. WTF?

    2. then i had same problem, which is Collectors Edition Online Pass Entitlement

    3. Contacted EA again and again, after few contact, he gave me new Collector's Edition , From Ashes key. i redeemed again. problem solved.
