Forum Discussion
I feel your pain. Origin CS is (like many others), hit & miss ... mostly miss. As to your particular issue ...
A little unclear on your situation. Is your EA Play only through XBOX Game Pass (for PC or ultimate)? If so, EA Desktop is your only client for Origin games. And ...
...alas, you can't access the DLC (including the free Extended Cut and multiplayer DLC's) through EA Desktop. I thought there was a Bioware rep here who said he'd look into it, but can't find that thread. Anyway, as far as I know, still no fix for this (and wouldn't hold my breath).
Or do you also have EA Play through normal (non-game pass) sub? In which case you should have access to all the content through Origin. Are you saying you have this, but don't see the DLC in Origin?
I do have both Origin launcher and EA Desktop, both using the same account. As for Origin, it doesn't even show my EA Playpass games on there. So as far as Origin goes, there's no way to look at available extra content.
As to the Bioware rep, he did say he'd look into it. But as far as I can tell he never came back with a reply.
And finally I have Xbox Gamepass for PC (Not Ultimate, as I don't own an Xbox console.) I was able to get EA Playpass through XBOX Gamepass.
Also I absolutely thought no one would even reply here, so even though you might not be able to help lol, thanks!

Well, for what little help I'll probably be, you're welcome 🙂
You have Origin, but do you have an EA Play account purchased through Origin (i.e. NOT your Game Pass for PC version)? It sounds like you don't. So yeah, Playpass games will not be shown there. The Game Pass version of EA Play only works on the EA Desktop client. So I'll offer two possible solutions, neither that great:
1) Purchase 1 month of EA Play on Origin store. $4.99. Then you should be able to install ME3 (through "normal" EA Play on Origin), and the DLC should appear in the "Extra Content" tab. After that expires, since it is in your DLC install folder, it should work from then on via the EA Desktop app and your game pass account. Now that's a lot of "shoulds", so caveat emptor.
2) Purchase ME3 (currently $17.99) on Origin. Then access the DLC as above. You might be able to get a quick refund, but no guarantees. And it is subject to the same shoulds as above. So, obviously, not really a good approach. But thought I'd throw it out there.
Also, look for a DM
- Emhyr8003 years agoSeasoned NoviceOut of curiosity, I bought Mass Effect 3 again on another account and it immediately added the extended cut to me. I don't know what the problem is in this forum. If I had this problem, I wouldn't wait for help and buy a package DLC the promotion and after the problem.

Since you resurrected this old thread and my post is just above yours, I feel the need to update the info in mine for those looking for a solution to the (somewhat related) "I can't get the DLC on GamePass/EA Desktop" issue. Turns out, there's apparently a rather simple workaround.
