Mass Effect 3 on Wii U will not run without update

Question

My copy of Mass Effect 3 on Wii U will not start. It attempts to update, but I don't currently have internet access and it boots me back to the home menu. This is especially baffling as I had just updated the game two days ago. This software belongs to me, and I should be able to run it any damn time I please with internet or not. Please inform me of a work around so I can restore my rightful access to my software.

Incorrect. The software belong to Electronic Arts. You own a license to play the game.

If the terms of service don't contain a valid reason why you should be denied access to the game, then EA owes you an explanation. This is not the right place, however. You'll need customer support: http://help.ea.com/contact-us
