Sound distortion can happen in any game if you have more than one audio device enabled. Disable all audio output devices you're not using, for instance the GPUs built-in audio. If you have a dedicated sound card, like Creative X-Fi or Asus Xonar, make sure you disable onboard audio in your BIOS.
