Mass Effect 3 Subtitles too small - PC

Hey everyone. I'm really enjoying Mass Effect 3, but I'm using a 1920x1080 screen and the subtitles are slightly too small. I love to read in-game, I absorb the content better and it makes the game more enjoyable for me. Is there any way I can increase the subtitle size through editors or one of the games configuration files?

I found an editor for ME3 called "Coalesced" but I'm unsure of how to use it; it's very technical and thorough. If someone can direct me to the command line to increase the subtitle text, that's really all i need 🙂

Thanks in advance!

  • This has been a problem sicne launch and it has never been fixed. I once sent a message to Chris Priestly, who worked at BioWare at the time, and he said it wasn't a priority.

The issue is that the entire user interface doesn't scale to resolution, which is a massive oversight. I have tried looking for a solution, but the only way to increase the size is by playing on low resolutions, like on Xbox 360 and PS3.

That is really unfortunate, but after looking at that coalesced.bin file with an editor, I have a hard time believing this can't be fixed by a few tweaks. It get pretty complicated. I'm hopeful that one of the dev's might know or someone might come here who is familiar with it. And I tried lowering the resolution to make the subtitles biggger.... I had to put it all the way down to 1360x768 to get it to scale properly. The game looked so bad I thought I was playing ME1 again lol!
