Mass Effect 3 Won't Launch
Hi everyone,
A friend of mine got me Mass Effect 3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition over Steam as a gift last year.
I've been trying to launch it for months but to no avail.
As far as I know, Origin is necessary to play the game so I make sure I'm logged in and connected to the internet.
Other games like Mass Effect 2 are working perfectly fine and they're all games bought on Steam.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Repairing the game on Origin
- Disabling Origin in-game overlay
- Disabling Cloud Saves on Origin
- Clearing Origin cache manually
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin
- Launching the game in offline mode didn't work and said: "Origin encountered an issue loading this page. Please try reloading it – if that doesn’t work, restart the client or try again later."
- Running ME3 as admin
- Running in compatibility mode for Windows XP, Vista and 7
- Verifying integrity of game files on Steam
- Clearing Steam download cache
- Deleting the License folder in C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services (worked for many people but not for me)
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
Steam would show me that the game is running (briefly), then Origin would glow in my taskbar.
After that, the Origin window would pop up as if it "refreshed" and it's as if I didn't even try to start the game.
No ME3 related processes would be running.
Today:
I tried these below 3 steps (again) in this order:
- Verifying integrity of game files on Steam
- Clearing Steam download cache
- Deleting the License folder in C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services
Origin didn't "refresh" but steam only opened the launcher as usual. I pressed "Play" but nothing happened as if the game isn't even running.
After returning the License folder back to its original place, at least Origin did the "refresh" thing again.
EA support is unresponsive.
I really don't know what else I can do at this point...
This is how EA loses customers.
