Mass Effect 3 won't load title screen

I am playing this on Xbox 360.

I have bought some DLC using MSP.

I hadn't played it for a while so yesterday I turned it on and tried to play. I installed the brand new patch as recommended, but when it gets to the title screen it gets stuck on the 'scanning for downloadable content' message. Tried both discs and after half an hour each still hadn't loaded. I am unable to access the menu screen to load my game and now totally unable to play the game.

Please find a solution otherwise this is a lot of money down the drain.
