It was a good game, with very good potential to be great with a few tweaks and more patches. Honestly, EA said they could delay launch up to 6 months without really bothering their financials, and SOMEONE decided that it wasn't needed and was ok to release the buggy product they did......
Issues were mostly overblown, but honestly, the bad facials and such were simply a byproduct of the game being unfinished, and you can see it in several areas. Why they didn't delay the release and fix these very noticeable and easily lampooned issues is beyond me. They could have STARTED the game and release patches from where they ENDED it instead....think about 6 more months of intensive patches from where the game stands now....THAT is what we could have had.
Honestly the decision to drop MEA befuddles me, why they wouldn't fix the issues, release the DLC make some money from it, and continue revenue for 6 more months to a year more is beyond me. At least in Dragon Age 2, they released some DLC, fixed many of the complaints about the game in them and seemingly learned from their mistake...hopefully they do the same in ME.
I think I am mostly sad about MEA now, because of how close we came to really getting a great product, one that could honestly keep ME at the forefront of SciFi gaming for years to come.
- 8 years agomcsupersport - Yeh I'd like to no who actually made the decision to drop it? And there reasoning, as you said they could of fixed the reputation by 6months to a years worth of patches and dlc to make fans happy. I mean that's what we've all been craving for ain't it.... DLC.... That proves there's a demand for more.
Why make another Sci fi game in anthem when you already have the best Sci fi franchise in mass effect, pull all ur resources to making sure it's the best possible mass effect experience possible then over a course of a couple years add dlc content to add to it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but - I now strongly believe that bioware and mass effect have to pull away from ea somehow. That's gonna be difficult as they own them, but it has to happen. I also believe that there could still be more to come from Andromeda, maybe they leave it alone for couple years or less, then do something with it? What you think of this?
I also agree with what you said regarding its development stage - that if they'd delayed the release for another 6months-1yr with all the patches they did and some more fine tuning then it would of turned out even greater than it was, maybe that's what they wanted but ea pushed for the release?
I do agree the facial issues were recognizable (especially with Addison) but everything else was just over blown, it spoiled its reputation to much. And with literally everyone jumping on the bandwagon it just crushed it unfairly. I still believe that alot of the hate came from peeps who only played it for 10hours then gave up, or even some that never actually played it (or jus watched YouTube Vids) and just wanted to throw some more hate it's way. Of course it's just my opinions but alot of you have agreed with this. The game is way better than the negative reviews it received, but some of the negativity was justified. But no game is perfect hey!!
