Mass Effect Andromeda crashes alot

Heya,

so I got ME Andromeda some time ago on Steam and for ~the first 40 hours the game run fine without crashes or any problems, but the last couple of days I'm having problems with constant crashes.

The first crashes I noticed happened in the mission "Liam Kosta: All in" but are now happening more consistent.

I'm not getting any error message when it crashes the game just stutters for a second then freezes and closes itself, I can't really pinpoint anything special that I'm doing when it crashes, but I would say it seems to be more often in missions compared to just being in the open world.

I tried looking into the CrashDump.dmp files it generated, but outside of it being an access violation (c0000005) I can't really make anything out of it.

Since I can't Upload the .dmp files here I uploaded the folder containing them to google drive hope that works

If anyone could help me or at least point me in the right direction, I would be grateful

Things I tried to fix it

-changing in game settings

-running it as admin

-Windows system file checker

-verifying the files in steam

-adding the game as an exception in windows defender

-updating .net and DirectX

-reinstalled the game

  • I've tried to play a bit today and changed my weapon loadout in game, since I've changed it I haven't crashed a single time.

I assume some mod/augmentation combination did something wonky that the game didn't like.

From what I can remember, it was the "Zalkin Assault Rifle" with the "Beam Emitter" and I think the "Vintage Heat Sink" augments.

The weapon was sometimes leaving behind some laser rays or whatever you want to call them after firing, but I assumed it was just some graphical glitch.

I will try and play a bit more tomorrow and see if the game will crash again or if the issue is resolved.

    Edit:

So after playing a bit more problem seems to be fixed no crashes or any problems anymore, weird how something as simple as changing the loadout can fix things.

The driver of your ASUS Xonar DGX Audio Device is really old and responsible for the "not digitally signed" error inside the DxDiag.
That does not necessarily mean anything, but it can.

Furthermore, WER (Windows error reporting) does not generate entries inside the DxDiag as it should be which in turn points to at least some problem with the OS.

Could you upload a dump file so I could have a closer look?

    Hey, thanks for the reply,

about the dump file, do you mean the ones that are in

    \Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Andromeda\Temp

if so it's the Google Drive link in my initial post since uploading them directly doesn't seem to work, it just tells me "Unsupported extension type" if I try.

If you mean some other dump file, I can upload them as soon as you tell me which ones you need and where they are located.

About the ASUS Xonar driver if I remember correctly it's a modified driver that I got from https://maxedtech.com/asus-xonar-unified-drivers/  since I had a lot of trouble with the normal ones and this one seemed to fix the issues I had.

    Appreciate the help!
