Still only coming from Kotaku. In other words, the only news is from one source. Never trust just one source.
Yes. One source over and over Kotaku, which makes me think they didn't want to discuss or respond to any others except Kotaku.
It could make sense in a way, probably they thought : "Let's do a small interview with Kotaku and that's it, 1 source is enough, others can pick it up from them, no more press".
This is a common tactic used by many, not game industry only. They Say something to avoid being blamed for not explaining, then let it die off. The problem is > This is Mass Effect not some random game. 🤔
The thing about the Kotaku article is that it's plausible and it sounds reasonable. This creates an artificial sense of credibility but in the end there is still zero evidence of what was written in there.
What I would like is a communication from BW about what their next plans are for ME:A.

So far, since ME1, it appears they started working on "next" ME game in the same year previous ME was released. Now, ... i don't remember back if they ever announced it as soon as they started working on it, or they would post news about it 1 year before release.
Same with Anthem, we know the release will be next year, but was it announced right away when development started? I found out about Anthem here on the ME:A forums LOL i didn't know its out there.
I don't know, i'm just observing this by looking at their communication patterns and strategies.
All in all,.... there's a LOT of people waiting for at least a hint regarding ME:A (including myself) :eahigh_file:

No, actually, they usually wait a few years before admitting they are working on something (or what a specific team is working on). It's usually 'upcoming project' or something.

Mass Effect 1 was something new of course. It certainly had an impact but I think back then social media wasn't as brutal as it is today. So there was criticism of course but not as crazy as it is now. As far as communication. Honestly I don't remember it from back then. I think there was less of a need for it than there is now.
I think with ME:A because there was a longer wait again (there was only 2 years between ME2 and 3 I believe) and people were expecting a lot based on BioWare's promises and communication and then when the game came out then there was a lot to justifiably criticize. That's particularly tough because then the usual bull complaints get piled on top with borrowed validity. There was a just a lot wrong with the graphics, MP and things like having lots of planets to explore was reduced down to 6 planets and such. So really, it wasn't a good situation but they acted like nothing was wrong as usual but at least they responded and got some patches out that really did improve the game quite a bit.
And then it became silent.
That's the part I don't get. When you have to do damage control, don't stop half way through it. They made some good steps by communicating and delivering some much needed patches but they didn't complete it. Some things really need to be looked at still and they need to do something to bring confidence back to the player base. I want to explain why I play the game to my friends, not defend why I haven't quit playing it. That difference is significant to me.

And THAT is so true! Things have taken a very nasty turn lately in this social media communication environment. Very damaging indeed, sometimes to the bone. It's gotten to a point where i'd think it's kind of irreversible, or could take quite a while to re-adjust...IF it will ever happen 🤔 ...i hope it will though
At least the community here on these forums is nice, and that's enough reason for me to barge into discussions, debates, ideas and what not. Cool! 🥳
