What platform?
If it's PS3, you need the latest patch.
If it's PC, you have to locate the save folder in the config utility (see guide in ME2 subforum).
If it's Xbox 360, you should be able to import without taking additional steps.
I apologize for not providing the name of the console I am using for Mass Effect. To answer your question it is a PS3. From what you stated in the reply to my question I'm going to have to download a patch for the PS3. What must I do to obtain the patch? If you could I would like the specifics of obtaining it please.
I have never played on a PS3 so I'm not familiar with the specifics. Perhaps it will just prompt to update when you launch the game while connected to PSN, but I don't know for certain.
