Mass Effect Trilogy doesn't start after install

Others seem to have this problem as well, but none of the fixes I've read elsewhere seem to work.  I installed the Mass Effect Trilogy box set, but nothing I do gets Mass Effect to start.  I launch the game, and it seems to think for a second, and sometimes a message pops up saying it is launching the game, but nothing happens.  I've restarted, uninstalled, and run as administratior, but nothing works.  Help?
