13 years agomass effect trilogy
I recently purchased Mass Effect trilogy. It seemed to install fine. It will not play though! It gets past the cloud sync data screen then tells me the program has stopped working. I tell Windows...
There has been a great deal of past discussion of PhysX versions when this type forum was still active on the Bioware Social Forums' site. The archives are still there, although it may very well take some digging to identify the right thread, since the handy "Solved" flags don't exist there. Use Google or Yahoo, not the badly broken on-site file finder they created and never repaired there.
Here ya go. For ME2 only. Uninstall PhysX software & uninstall Game. Go to the NVIDIA website, download & install the latest PhysX driver software and install it. THEN reinstall the game. Plays fine. I still don't know if ME1 will play on Win7 64 bit machine. If it only works using XP compatability mode, then I ain't gonna do it. Too much trouble. Ya might not miss much if ya don't play it anyway. Good luck.
So Mass Effect is now runnning on my Win7 x64 AMD-Grafic Card
to get it running ive done th following things
1. Install Patch 1.02
You can download patch 1.02 here: http://masseffect.bioware.com/me1/pc/updates/index.html
If the Pacher Says "Mass Effect is not found." dont worry. Coppy the Patch to the game folder (or the Binary folder)
(You can check your ME version with the ME-Configurator in your Binary folder)
2. Check your PhysX Driver. the Legay-Version is needed.
You can download the NVIDIA PhysX Legacy System Software here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html
(If you need a PhysX for Mass Effect 2 the one above will do)
3. Run Mass Effect as Administrator
4. checked you have DirectX 9 also installed
You can download DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime here: http://www.microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx?id=34429
