It seems that this would be a deliberate QoL choice (for the hamster) so that one could peacefully activate the hamster post head-acquisition without stressing it out.
I actually never knew this was a thing, but I'll definitely be doing it on my next playthrough. 🙂
You're blaming the hamster for this one?
It's only a "thing" when you click the husk head first though...not a problem if you only click on the hamster.
A "glass half empty" kind of person might imagine that if you click on the husk head before leaving the cabin, the hamster will never eat again!
A "glass half full" kind of person might imagine that eventually the hamster will work out that the husk head's bark is worse that in its bite...and flip it the bird after a while!
One design choice that I am annoyed with...I had no idea about that paddle fish "thing". I played as Fem Shep and I don't think that she got the option to have the yeoman look after her fish in ME2. Maybe years and years down the track I'll play badman Shep and get this "thing". Otherwise, it's disappointing that some of these "things" are impossible to get unless you know about them beforehand...but I did get that nice pay off in ME3 with that fan of Sheps...we didn't swap bodily fluids, but we did swap data for war assets...all of them!
