It is imho very unlikely that the devs will provide such fix, simply because it could lead to entirely new problems.
So you either use the Genesis Comic or you just replay the game.
No matter what you do, save more often, this are massive RPG games, by not saving as much as you can you asking for a world of pain.
@Drakarn Sadly, I have to agree with @holger1405 , and would suggest simply playing the game again. I personally play on PC, and run between 50-75 saves through a single play through, with 100+ when including an NG+ run too. It is easier to delete them later if I need space than to find out I am stuck due to bad decision, or glitch because I don't have enough saves.
Yeah, there should have been an mention by one of your teammates of something like," Let's take the Mako into the scary dark tunnel...." as you pass the Mako heading to the door. Last time I missed it, because I entered the Mako as soon as it allowed, which was before the trigger point.
