ME: Legendary edition controller not detected

I'm having a similar problem - any time I launch one of the games with a controller plugged in the game loads briefly then crashes and returns me to the launcher.

Really frustrating as I don't enjoy playing these games with mouse and keyboard.

it’s a controller overlay program for Steam, but you can use it for anything by just adding non-steam games to your library.

1. install it

2. make sure you have steam installed

3. open glosc, click create new

4. point it to the launcher executable.

5. check the box “launch game”

6. make sure the “desktop config” and “close overlay when window closes” boxes are unchecked.

7. save it and then click “add all to steam”

8. steam will restart, find it in the list and launch it!

couple of notes - i have origin overlays disabled, not sure if that affects it at all. also, if you alt+tab out, be sure to click the glosc overlay window (or alt tab to it) before going back into the game. 

worked perfectly so far.

oh, and it adds it to your steam library as a non steam game no matter what, so if you have it on steam, select the one that is a non steam game.

The Xbox Series Controller not working for me in-game, only in the launcher. Though my Xbox 360 controller works perfectly in-game, wirelessly.

This will have to do for a band-aid, until proper support is hopefully patched in.

DS4 connected with USB

Same problem here. Tried everything from cables, blutooth DS4windows. Nothing works.

Controller is OK in the launcher menu and doesn't work in any of the games.

Running on steam.

Also tried the GloSC option but it's not changing anything for me.

Extremely annoying. Might as well get a refund.

I spoke with support on Twitter, I'm using an 8bitdo sn30 pro+ and it works on the launcher but not on the games

They said to me:We don't officially support either of those on MELE, so I can only really recommend trying an Xbox controller

If you're having issues with an Xbox controller try to contact them via DM on @EAHelp , they reply very quick

I'm not getting anywhere with it either, I may try reinstalling to my C drive and then run down that rabbit hole, download only took about 20 minutes. It may be shotty install, it may also be a conflict between the EA Desktop and Origin. I tried both a wired Logitech F310 and a bluetooth connected Xbox One controller. Neither worked with the launcher vanilla, big picture mode on steam with and without GloSC.

I'm just irritated that I wasn't able to come home and play this last night, never played the ME series instead I spent 4 hours troubleshooting before I said screw it and watched a streaming service. 

Edit: Reinstalled the game via EA desktop still the issue persists, Also the install folders are invisible with this install method. It's not a conflict between Origin and EA Desktop as I have also tested the game either disabled, the only thing I can now think of is the game is searching for config files in the wrong directories. Or the files are not there. I will try Big Picture Mode.

Further Edit: The issue was it was mistaking my HOTAS set as a controller and thus, it was not recognizing inputs from other devices besides M/KB. My issue was resolved once I unplugged the throttle and stick.

I did manage to fix it by enabling controller support from steam and running in big picture mode and enabling the controller from there.

After launching MELE that way to my surprise it actually worked.

I've also been messing around using this:

I'm pretty sure it was the big picture mode that actually fixed it but I can't ben 100% sure.
